SFist Tonight
- Festivus: Although we see no mention of the traditional "Airing of Grievances" or the post-dinner "Feats of Strength" battle, we can't imagine any proper Festivus celebration without them. Still, whether or not tonight's party follows strict Seinfeldian doctrine, a good time will be had by all at Green Aid's holiday bash. Mutaytor performs at this Black Rock City-ish night of fun.
Starts at 7:30 p.m. at SomArts Cultural Center; $70.
- Dub Mission: Renowned for their supreme titular dub sounds, DJs Sep and Vinnie Esparza throw down the proper beats to get properly wasted to, just before tomorrow's big ol' Jesus-loving, egg nog-swilling, glazed ham-consuming day of joy. Special guest star DJ TBA.
Music starts at 9 p.m. at Elbo Room; $6.
- Doctor Zhivago (1965): Come watch the film version of Boris Pasternak's award-winning novel featuring a pre-Funny Girl Omar Sharif, a young Julie Christie, and Geraldine Chaplin wearing unusually large fur hats.
Screens at 8 p.m. at the Castro Theatre; $6-9.
