I think sic warns the reader that there is no editorial mistake with the previous word or phrase even tho it might appear to look incorrect. As if it's a quotation. Stet tells the author that the editor changed his or her mind. So just ignore all the corrections written in red pencil and let the existing text stand the way it is. Anyway, a lot of people prefer Costco [sic] Busan for various reasons.
