Last time I checked, this is still America. If the owner wants a Hummer, pays for it, and obeys traffic laws, then he has that right. Yes, this car is less than practical in the Marina, and is a pain to navigate and to park, but if the owner is aware of these problems and still wants it, then more power to him. Maybe he was injured or knows someone who was injured from a collision while riding around in a small car. Maybe he's tired of potholes beating his car or flat tires. Get out from your cloud of smug San Francisco and quit giving people a hard time b/c they drive a truck!

That ain't no deer catcher, it's a Marina chick bumper gate. When the vehicle senses an active cell signal and the presence of a female within 30 feet the gate swings open to prevent Marina women - perpetually yapping on their cell phones oblivious to the world around them - from getting in the path of the HUMMER. It's a nice piece of safety equipment, specifically designed for the urban environment of it's driver.

Pray for a balmy 65 degree day and a bit of stop-go traffic. That thing will overheat in minutes. Then all the plasticky pseudo-military applique bits will melt and fill the aircon with lethal gasses. The owners won't notice bcause they'll be twatting away on their cells or dicking with their sat nav. Pretty soon the lump will slowly roll to the curb and have a low impact accident with a muni bus stop. People will rush to the car and find the occupants slumped in their seats. They'll try the doors, but they'll be locked. They'll attempt to break a window, but the double thick glass required to mask the enormous tyre roar and make the car passably quite on inside, will not break. They'll be powerless to help. All they'll be able to do is stand there and listen as the Onstar operator unsuccesfully tries to find out if the owners are OK. After a few moments, the #5 will arrive at the bus stop and the crowd will collectively shrug and board the bus. As the bus pulls away we too will pull away to hover twenty feet above the scene: a gleaming, but wrecked Hummer; an empty street; a miniature violin playing.
