Yes, The Smiths should be the official band of MUNI. They capture the pity, helplessness, angst, and overall spirit of our city's bus system. Who knows? Perhaps Morrissey took a ride on MUNI which inspired him to start the band. After all, MUNI has been sucking way before The Smiths formed.

MUNI could conceivably post a schedule for the new double-decker bus, but since it is MUNI, the bus would be crushingly late, filled to capacity, and followed by two empty coaches. Ahahahahahahahaahaha!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if it's a rumor, but I heard if you're lucky enough to catch this double decker, you can just hop on - sans the muni fare. I'd check with the bus driver before just hopping on to be safe though!

It actually looks a little like some Golden Gate Transit buses, with the red, white, and blue scheme. Hope nobody jumps on board expecting a ride to Marin.

I saw it yesterday at the corner of South Van Ness and Market, heading north across Market. Also, on a related note, are there a bunch of those creepy talking NextBus boxes, or just the one at 2nd Ave and Irving?
