Hee, I love these kinds of signs...re the "no plucking" sign, at first I thought the flowers looked like people - while I certainly wouldn't want it to happen, I thought that banning the harrassment of Liliputians by giants was a tad more specific than necessary...

Speaking of Singapore, one of my favorite signs was at the airport there, which features a figure of a man literally sprinting away from flames licking his heels (I believe it was for an emergency exit).

Marco Polo on Taraval and 24thish has durian ice cream as well. Tastes kinda like garlic, or so I've heard. No nifty spinning wheel like Polly Ann's tho.

I always get a kick out of the Christmas decoration displayed on the top floor of an apartment building at Van Ness and Bush (the building on the corner, with the starbucks [the one that almost got 'sploded, cept the bomb was fake]).

The Christmas lights form a humongous L, which is circled and crossed out. Get it?

I object to the vandal's comments. He used American English instead of expressing this thought with some cryptic icon. How culturally insensitive.

On Saturday my sons and I were trying to figure out that the picture of the guy kicking the soccer ball meant you could not play other sports (we wanted to toss a football around--and did so outside the gates).

That said, the gardens are one of the great hidden treasures of the city and a real respite from the city. I don't mind all the rules so that folks can meditate on the glories of nature, read their novels while sitting on the lawn, and enjoy each other's company.

Also, now the city has to pay to redo the sign.

Isn't there a city ordinance banning smoking in city parks? Looks like they forgot an icon.

The skateboard park in Moraga has a cute little ssquatting dog with a cute little turd popping out of it in their red-slash symbol:

Akit-Durian for sale on Stockton St .89 pound. Polly Ann Ice Cream on Noriega has Durian flavor.
=========================

Wow, the mind spins thinking of all the other "international no" signs that could be up there:

NO:
syringes
Hobos
pooping
BJs
stabbings
pickpocketing
hos
vomiting..........

A few rules to help with sustainability, and this vandal concludes "Don't Live?" Must have been written by a current or a future homeless person ... the homeless are the most selfish (exceptions being the mentally ill) bastards ever with their refusal to live by rules in order to contribute to society. Meh....
