Another Train Hits Another Man On Another Cell

Similar to the fatal accident that happened in November, another pedestrian -- engrossed in a phone call, ignorant as to what was happening around him -- was stuck and killed by a train in San Leandro. According to the Chronicle, it seems that:

The victim, a man who was not immediately identified, was struck at 12:30 p.m. by a northbound Capitol Corridor train at the Alvarado Street crossing, about 8 miles south of the Oakland station, Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said.

The Oakland Tribune says that San Leandro police officers spotted the man earlier in the day sporting a "multicolor hat with spider-like arms." Like a...we have no idea what that looks like. But still, another very depressing accident. Read more about it here and here.

In NY last month or so, an elderly woman's car got stuck at a surburban railroad crossing with her inside.

It's the Long Island RR which is one of the systems in NY that is the same as Caltrain here.

Two people saw her plight and bravely rushed to pull her our of the car, as the train approached unable to stop.

Seconds later the car was crushed to bits by the train. She was pissed that they didn't get her purse out of the car...
