Oh I passed by that just the other day. The shop itself is one of those "why do I need this" art-trinket stores that are in such short supply in the Castro these days. There's also a slogan painted above it -- something about "if I am shot in the head let the bullet destroy every closet door," which I find even more depressing than the picture of the gun, since it sure hasn't worked out that way.

Well, at least it acknowledges what happened. Kind of reminds me of the Robert Arneson statue of Moscone: both pieces display some of the warmth/character of the subject, while noting how and why they're not with us any longer. http://www.comtogether.com/art/miscpix/moscone.htm
