Grasshopper Receives Nine-Month Jail Sentence
Sigh. The popular kids are at it again.
No stranger to playing fast and loose with the law, noted homeless taxi driver Grasshopper Kaplan -- you remember, that guy who ran for mayor this year and received a decent 1,400 votes -- was arrested yesterday. Why? According to the Snitch, he was "sentenced on Monday to nine months in county jail for threatening a passenger while driving his unlicensed taxi." Hmm. How zany.
Oh right, excuse me. Ahem, all together now: "Only in San Francisco."

True story -- this once I'm sitting there by the Federal Building waiting for the Mission bus, and some nutjob homeless guy sits by me and asks for a light. I give him my lighter and instantly can't shut him up, he's complaining about this time he got busted and when they asked for his name he said "Grasshopper". As we say in Cali, "I'm all, holy shit!" and realize he's they guy running for mayor.
And he smokes an entire joint in front of me without offering a single hit.
Honestly, who would vote for that guy?
Who gets his purple van now?
(I've seen it all around town this year; kind of hard to miss)
He never shuts the fuck up about the injustice of the whole thing when you're in his cab. He probably did most of the work for the prosecutiuon himself. Nutter. Now we have to pay $100,000 to keep this clown in jail for 9 months. Waster.
So the cops who actually try to stop these nutjobs from crossing the line are just like the popular kids who terrorize outcasts in high school? Say what?
Does this mean female cops who just do their jobs are like Lindsay Lohan in "Mean Girls"?
i want the apron the guy leaning against the van is wearing.
grasshopper parked his van in front of my office while he was running for mayor. it was SUCH a pain in the neck to walk by him every morning - he never shuts the hell up!
Small African children should be giving grasshopper’s portion of oxygen, water and food. A complete waste.
