O! What we wouldn't give to attend this press screening in Washington DC tomorrow!
DCist has the pleasure of reporting on the anti-invert, pro-missionary sex group called Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). Tomorrow they will unveil "raw and unedited" footage that they shot during this year's Folsom Street Fair for the National Press Club. "Raw" footage, you say? Oh my.
You may remember that there was a scant bit of controversy due to Folsom Street Fair's slap-and-tickle poster hilarity this past year, and this AFTAH wants the world to know about it. Plus, they plan on demanding that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi apologize for our sins, or release yet another deadly virus on the gays, or something wildly inane like that. We're not exactly sure; hateful groups like this tend to make little to no sense when they disguise or frame vile bile. But goddamn, do we love us some crazies.
Our sister said it best that "[t]his is clearly going to be the best opportunity all year to watch gay porno in public without ponying up for a membership at the Crew Club. Who's bringing drinks?" Damn, if we were there, we would so bring the Zimas. Alas.
In the meantime, we will cross our fingers that the film makes its way over here sometime soon!

oh man, that is hilarious. i wish i could go!
and the article "tolerance gone wild" seems to suggest that the presence of thousands of women at the event indicates that "straights" are starting to attend folsom in higher numbers. excuse me? how narrow-minded do you have to be to assume that all the women there were straight? yuck.
I'm guessing, even if this porn film of theirs makes it here, it won't be very hot. Did they get model releases for everyone in it? If I've learned anything from porn, it's proof all the actors are over the age of 18 must be filed with the City and County of San Francisco.
Bob, you don't have to be narrow minded to make the assumption that the women are straight, you just have to have visited the spectacle to see that they're straight.
the question is...did Miller Beer, owned by Miller SAB (That's South African Breweries if you're curious) lose more money by pissing off the Christians, or by pissing off the FSF folk for pulling out?
I report, you decide.
Well you don't have to be a religious nazi to dislike the Folsom St fair.
I'm gay and can't stand it. I think it is horribly tacky and lends fuel to the fire that gay people are sex-addcits. I mean really, I don't need to watch some nasty guy jerk off on the street. I could do that in front of the mirror at home, alone.
Of course, that being said, it's great for the city, and seems fun to those that enjoy it.
"AFTAH" needs to just let it go. If you don't like it, don't go.
I love the FSF and it is just as much as about leather and fetish in general as just skeevy gay guys. That would be Dore, which is fun in a different alley-er kind of way.
But lets not twist ourselves into knots about over a group who's ability to affect public policy rivals only our own.
Yeah FSF is kinda tacky, but so is Fisherman's Wharf luckily both are really hard to wander into by accident. To each their own.
The newly sworn in Mayor of Vallejo chimes in on his distaste for the FSF, in the current issue of The Advocate in the Rants & Raves column (which isn't online unfortunately):
"I think what goes on at that fair is pretty disgusting. Just because you are gay doesn't mean you support the Folsom Street Fair or go there. I don't."
