SFist Photo: SFBC's Winterfest 2007 a Huge Success

Supervisor Mirkarimi playfully chokes fellow Supe Tom Ammiano while impresario Andy Thornley shills for ever higher bids during yesterday's auction.

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition put on another well-attended fundraising party last night. Winterfest 07 is ably described by Tyche Hendricks here.

See all the action, read a frank confession from yet another fixed-gear bike rider, and find out how much the winning bidder paid for dinner with Ross Mirkarimi at Nopa in the NOPA, after the jump.

Dinner with Ross went for $800, mas o menos, which sounds like a bargain to us. Other politicos on the scene included Supervisor Gerardo Sandoval and former Supervisors Mark Leno and Carole Migden.

The Extra Action Marching Band looked great and sounded great. What more can you ask for? They're just fantastic.

Fixie riding shutterbug Max Victor Stein lays it all out for you. Good for him. We all can't be Andy the gold medal winning fixed gear expert. Just ask Ephraim the Track Bike.

Huge turnout. Other photos here.

And just how much would I have had to bid to get people to STOP USING THAT GODDAMNED OBNOXIOUS MOTHERFUCKING UNCALLED-FOR "NOPA" ACRONYM???

Just curious.

$2000 probably would have done it. For that much, you could have permanently changed that locale's name to South of Kaiser Hospital ("the SOKA").

Maybe next year!

I think the ship has sailed, DJ.
