I like St Francis Fountain. True, its been taken over by hipster scumbags but really, if you're eating in *that* part of town at a non-taqueria that isn't $25 a plate (think Foreign Cinema) then you have to expect a certain amount of full-arm tats and asymmetrical hairdos with a complete disregard for high-quality service. Their malteds and mac and cheese are still quite tasty.

St. Francis Fountain has everything else beat when it comes to bad service. If you weren't out drinking with the waitstaff the night before, they don't have the inclination to so much as smile at you. And the owner? If you don't have the latest look from the Urban Outfitter catalog, he has no time for you. I miss the old owners!

Try the Safeways in DC -- they have alliterative nicknames! Almost all are completely negative like Soviet Safeway (which barely stocks anything), Secret Safeway (which is hard to find and sort of hidden) and Senior Safeway (which is just full of old people being grumpy), and on and on.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Forever After bookstore on Haight here. I registered to leave comments just so I could bash/laud that place. The owners/checkers are so mean it's actually quite funny. Just for a laugh, stick your head in and see the "No pictures" and "No asking about the no pictures" signs. There are totally worse Safeways in this city than the one on Webester. Try any of them in the Outer Mission and you will be begging to cruise into the Webster one, even with their undercover security. Oh yea, bet you didn't know Safeway has undercover dudes.

I've never had a problem at Rainbow. I've also never seen a negative comment about their service that didn't allude to some sort of hippie conspiracy against people with low self-esteem. What kind of service do people expect at a supermarket? Free massages? Mints on the pillow? Brock, don't eat out of the bins.

Definately Rainbow Grocery. No dreads, no sandals, no service. They also evicted some neighbors from their apartments so they could expand, which completely blows a hole in their holier than thou bullshit.

Bubble Lounge: Sucks, but not as bad as Medjool. Upstairs bar people are nice, downstairs restaurant is hell, it makes Bubble Lounge look like purgatory. Get your cheese at The Cheese Store (that's the name) on Divis and Grove. People are super nice and helpful there and zero tude. Prices rock as well (I'm munching on some d'affiniois and olive bread I just bought there). Zietgiest? I like it, but then again I try to avoid on the weekends.

Just noticed that New World Market doesn't mean Cost Plus, whoopsie daisy...as a neighbor and occaisional patron of New World Market, I haven't experienced the "Russian Only Please" vibe from them myself, but I have from at least one similar place nearby (hint: it's not a bakery).

You've got to add ANY skateboard shop in SF, or the world unless you're blowing one of the barely-awake staff (staff? customer? it's all a blur in FTC). And any bar in the Marina (I know, but occasionally you get a chick who's from down there and you have to "go out in her neighborhood" and be rubbed-up against by married men who are so drunk they've struck out on every female there and are now just hitting on the closest thing to hand). Dear Marina security: please card me every time I go out for a smoke. I like that, I really do.

Yelp can lick my nuts as they banned me for dropping an F-Bomb in a review about a bar on Sutter. And add Wells Fargo to the list. They send me a letter, asking me to call them. I call them, they charge me $2 for the call after telling me they did not send me any such letter. So, I call them again and say "WTF, can you pls reverse the charge? You asked me to call you!!" They say "We dont charge for calls, Sir" and then charged me another $2. 2 days and $4 later, I became a proud member of WAMU.

The Safeway at Webster and Geary is the worst place I have ever shopped. Last night there were only two checkout lanes open, with at least 20 people waiting in each line. It took almost 1/2 an hour to check out. Then, when we reached the checkstand, my boyfriend started helping by bagging our items himself, and the checker chewed him out for double bagging our canned goods without asking his permission first. this was the worst of many bad experiences there.
