Polk Street Fire Kills Two

Two people were killed this morning after a single-alarm fire broke out at the Star of India restaurant on Polk and Broadway. "The kitchen was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived," said San Francisco Fire Department Lt. Mindy Talmadge according to Bay City News. The bodies were found in a loft space just above the kitchen. Also, "one firefighter's foot fell through the floor of the loft," prompting the crew to leave until the area was reinforced.
Other than knowing that one of the fire's victims was a guy, no other details have been released as to their identities.
This is terrible news. Not only have two died this morning because of the early AM fire, but the Star of India's kitchen is, most likely, out of commission for some time. We love us some Indian food during the rare times that our stomach can handle it.

Wow. I usually go (or went, now that it's in the past tense) to that place once a month for their lunch buffet.
I wonder who got killed in the "loft" space? The back of the restaurant, behind the dining area, reminded me of a rat maze. One had to navigate around 3 or 4 corners in order to get to the restroom.
Wow, Brock. I wanna be your fag hag more than any other girl on the planet, believe me, but two people are dead and you're lamenting that you'll be out of Indian food for a while?
Or maybe I just don't understand cause I hate Indian food.
Mindful Indulgence: This is a blog, it's not CNN. I always think of how any disaster will affect me first. It's a collective Bay Area thing, just watch the local news... "Huge typhoon in Bangladesh, Kent is live on 380 to tell you how that will affect your commute..." One less Indian restaurant means one less version of Chicken Korma for me to try.
Brock, dear, you must have put on the sensitive skin lotion this morning. I wasn't trying to be mean and I am well aware of the differences between CNN and the blogosphere.
By the way, dah-ling, I love what you've done with the place.
