Where's Your Bet Landing?

Live105.jpg
We had twenty but it's down to the last five. Live 105, a big supporter of local music scene (see popscene) is at it again. Each December, Live 105 hosts the "Not So Silent Night" event which brings a host of great bands - this year it's Modest Mouse, Jimmy Eat World, Angels & Airwaves, Spoon and Paramore - to San Francisco. (Seems like a great line-up to us.) To make it even more fun, Live 105 created a local band competition - the winner will open the entire event (starting at an early 6:15pm). Last year, Cold Hot Crash won and got the opportunity to open for the likes of The Shins and The Killers.

Live 105's team of experts have decided who the top five local bands are: MUD, Element 94, Cast of Thousands, Apside and Maldroid. Do you agree? What do you think of the top five and do you have any predictions?

If MySpace doesn't do it for you and you have to hear them live, then head over to Cafe du Nord, Monday night, for the final judging of all five bands. Five bands for five bucks. Not a bad deal!

SFist will be at "Not So Silent Night" deciding if Live 105 really did pick San Francisco's best.
