SFist: Pizza Delivery Gone Wrong

The naivete on SFist reeks of the "cultural elite". The tone of "We always thought these stories were sort of urban myths" is arrogant and condecsending to the rest of the real world. You speak of this incident and of these people as though you are observing from a tower, high above it all. Disconnected from the rest of us. Those who are actually down in this shit are alienated by this elitest tone. If you really want to make a difference than be honest. This crime was bullshit. The people who commited it should be shot and anyone who wants to stick around for the rest of there natural life should get their shit in order. Never mind all this "urban myth" shit. It was probably started by terrified white kids who moved to a city from Modesto because they hate mom and dad's church. In Richmond, in Oakland and in most every other shit neighborhood life sucks and attitudes like the one conveyed here just help to convince kids that they have no future. Their destiny is to remain ignorant and alienated. What this is "like" is "like" a man is dead and the people who killed him are running around high on adrenaline. That's no urban myth.

"Pizzy" - so I didn't get it until I googled it. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pizzy Pizzy (n.) a variation of the word "Pizza" "Man, I had some delish pizzy today." Wow...I'm going use delish and pizzy all the time now.

according to richmond police lieutenant mark gagan, when thach became a citizen he was quoted as saying it was the happiest day of his life. he's also reported as telling his girlfriend that while he didn't feel safe delivering in the area, he would keep working the job so he could make enough money to bring his mom here from cambodia. he worked thirteen years to become a citizen and it all comes down to this. shot twice in the back while delivering pizzas. what is this world coming to...

that is a horrible story. my brother was a cop in richmond for all of 3 months. he quit after he just couldn't take it anymore. he said it's pretty hopeless there and that it's quite unfortunate in a town of about 50k people, 5k are ruining it for all of them. i say we just shoot all of the gang bangers in the head to let the rest of the town get on with their lives. when does the greater good overwhelm the rights of the violent to a fault few?

i couldn't believe this happened in -the richmond- until i looked at the article and found out it was in richmond, as in the east bay. just FYI.
