-- A Vallejo husband and father, Kevin Owens, 41, went though with a murder/suicide pact (with himself, we guess) on Friday night. He shot and killed his wife, Stacey Owens, 38; wounded his two-year-old daughter; and then turned the gun on himself (right after "a big Thanksgiving dinner at their home Thursday night.") This happened on the 300 block of Carousel Drive. Owens' 10-year-old son managed to escape the bloodbath, run to a neighbor's, and call the cops for help
-- Early Sunday morning, two employees of the Fire Fly Sports Bar in the Outer Sunset were shot by a man who was refused admission from the bar earlier in the night. According to Crime SF, "the incident occurred at 2:20 a.m. in front of the bar at 2457 Noriega Street, between 31st and 32nd Avenues. One unidentified employee was shot in the back, while a bullet grazed the ankle of the second." And the lone male suspect? Is still at large.
-- Two people were shot after leaving a Bay View party. Again, according to Crime SF, "police said the female victim was shot in her left leg and the male victim suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg. The victims managed to drive themselves to San Francisco General Hospital where they were listed in stable condition, according to police." They drove themselves to the hospital? Wow. Way to go. We'd be in the fetal screaming.
-- At 10 p.m. on the 900 block of Ellsworth in Bernal Heights, a man was shot while waiting in his car. The unidentified victim was hit twice in the back and treated at SFGH. No on has been arrested in connection to his shooting.
-- And last but not least, a driver has been pinched for the hit-and-run Thanksgiving Day deaths of a "14-year-old [Stephanie Cervantez], riding in the front seat of the Mustang and who had been holding a plate of turkey...[and] her 4-year-old cousin, Jacklin Monguia-Herrera" of Oakland." (Also, why doesn't the Chronicle cover more SF-based crime?).
The Bayview couple each got shot in a different leg, so between they made one normal driver.
As long as not too much blood or leg meat was leaking out, they should have been able to drive fine. After all, they were likely high or drunk from the party they had been attending. No pain.
Call 1-800 CAR-BLOOD for a good carpet steam cleaning.
Note to self: ask husband to please not murder me.
Freaking scary to realize you never really know someone until suddenly you're staring down a gun barrel.
the chronicle covers the crime where its readers are. which coincides nicely with the audience that likes to frighten itself.
Handy tip - I hope none of us ever gets shot, but if you do get shot in the leg, Enterprise Rent a Car has cars with hand controls at no additional cost.

The downside is that cheaters take up all the handicapped spaces, so good luck finding a space at BART or the airport.
