are those pictures of stuffed tofurkey?

I am a hearty carnivore and recently partook in consuming some Tofurky, and I have to say that it was pretty ridiculously delicious. I wouldn't pick it over turkey but if someone gave it to me and told me it was turkey, I might believe them.

it is tofurkey, which i've never tasted, but...kinda want to. but anything with a center of stuffing looks good to me.

The catch? All Thanksgiving items have been cleared off the shelves weeks ago to clear way for Christmas items.

Tofurkey = surprisingly good.

The Cala Foods by my house (California & Hyde) is open until 6pm on Thanksgiving.

Keep in mind that in almost every price comparison I've done, it's more expensive than Whole Foods (the one three blocks away on California & Franklin). If it's past 2pm, though, I guess you'll have to pay the price.

I'm guessing that the various Safeway stores will probably have relatively normal operating hours.

Oh, and in a pinch, you can use dental floss in place of cooking twine.

very good point, mpantone. just make sure that the floss is neither waxed nor mint-flavored.

Do people really buy non-mint-flavored floss? the mint flavor is the best part.

The mint flavor contributes to global warming, breast cancer, ED, male-pattern baldness, acne, myopia, and UTIs. Yes, there are some people who buy unflavored floss.

Remember that most large grocery chains are open on thanksgiving day.

The only things usually sold out are firewood and pie shells.

Avoid the madness of today's shopping frenzy and go tomorrow. Or just order a pizza with mushrooms. Or hold the pizza, go with the shrooms.

Lucky (formerly Albertson's) at Fulton/Masonic is open 'til 5pm. :)

The only store I need to be open on thanksgiving (or any other day) is COIT LIQUOR. And it is, bless their little alcohol-saturated hearts.
