This Week in Le Rock: November 19-25

miggs.jpg
Earlier this month we mentioned that The Decemberists' five-night engagement at the Fillmore was canceled. It was going to be the highlight of our week, but we guess tofurkey will just have to do.

This week, our picks are Travis who are playing with Maximo Park at the Fillmore tomorrow night. Friday night at the Fillmore, The Drones (listen to "Shark Fin Blues" here) are opening for Band of Horses, an indie-rock band based out of Seattle. Saturday night is where it gets good - Miggs (pictured above), based out of San Francisco, will be headlining at Cafe du Nord. Miggs have been singled out as "the next big thing outta the San Francisco Bay Area," it seems. You don't want to miss that show.

Full listings after the jump.

You know, I saw Persephone's Bees open up for Redd Kross last weekend, and the only thing I could say after their set was done was "I think once upon a time they were supposed to be the next big thing." It's the kiss of death.

Good to see Travis recommended! They really are great live. Looking forward to tomorrow night! :-)

The D's engagement at the Fillmore was for 2 nights, crazies

Nope! According to the Fillmore website, it was five nights....

Travis was great - pictures/videos/review will be up soon!
