Muni's Guide to this Weekend: Baseball, New-Agey Contortionists

This weekend's Muni news spans both ends of the Kinsey scale: for straight people, football; for the gays, Cirque du Soleil. Of course, gays are also allowed to like sports. (All those bulging uniforms! And the cheerleaders! Mmmmm.) And if the Republican party has taught us anything, it's that straight married men secretly adore, and aspire to be, limber fags in spandex.

The Cirque will be performing in the parking lot of AT&T park, which seems like a totally appropriate venue. The football game, meanwhile, will be in a football stadium. Details after the jump.

SFMTA Announces Transit and Traffic Impacts this Weekend

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) advises San Francisco residents and visitors of the following event-related traffic and transit impacts this weekend, Saturday, November 17—Sunday, November 18, 2007. Event participants and fun seekers should check with www.sfmta.com or call 311 to find out which of the 80 Muni lines will get them where they want to go.

49ers Football Game

The 49ers will host a home game on Sunday, November 18 against the St. Louis Rams at 1:15 p.m. at Monster Park. Drivers should expect delays on city streets near the park and US 101 before and after the game.

For service to and from the game, Muni customers can take the K/T-Third Line to the Gilman/Paul station and transfer to the Football Shuttle. The Football Shuttle is free for T-Third customers who simply show a transfer.

Pre-game Service to Monster Park:

· 28X-Monster Park Express – from California and Funston

· 47X-Monster Park Express – from California and Van Ness

· 86S-Monster Park Shuttle – from Bacon and San Bruno

Post-game Service from Monster Park:

Cirque Du Soleil

From Friday, November 16, 2007 to Sunday, January 20, 2008, Cirque Du Soleil will be performing in Parking Lot A at AT&T Park.

Muni customers should take the Muni Metro K/T line to the Mission Rock station on Third Street next to Parking Lot A or the J-Church line to the Second and King station next to the ballpark.

Muni buses routes 10-Townsend, 30-Stockton, 45-Union/Stockton and 47-Van Ness also stop within one block of the ballpark.

Hee, it says take the J-Church. The J-Church stopped running to King and 4th months ago....

Isn't Muni still working on the tunnel after like 9 or 10PM? If so: If you are going to see the Cirque for the evening show (8PM), enjoy taking the surface bus.

The tunnel work is only M-F. I've been on the K as late as 12:30 AM on a Saturday night/Sunday morning.
