SFist Reviews... Maroon 5's Easy Listening Tunes

maroon1.jpg Let's be honest, we were never really Maroon 5 fans. (Ick, right? Right.) We've never turned off their music if it happened to be on the radio but we've never, by choice, listened to it on our iPod. It is not because they are bad or hate their music - we've just never really cared to listen to them (voluntarily). Maroon 5 picked the best band to open for them, The Hives because they were able to pump up the audience for the main attraction. We were surprisingly impressed with Adam Levine's voice, and the concert overall - especially for something at HP Pavilion. (Not as impressive as Madonna's usual antics but we digress.)

In the end: Maroon 5 is decent, safe KOIT music. Nothing more, nothing less.

Check out more pictures (and two videos) after the break...

I think the case can be made that "Iran So Far" also falls (albeit tangentially) within the Maroon 5 oeuvre.

My husband bought "Songs About Jane" about two years before the band really blew up, and I kind of like the band -- I thought they were like Backstreet Boys with real guitars. Granted, you have to like pop music. (No, I don't mean commercial crap, I mean pop music.)

I would love to see Justin Timberlake and Adam Levine do a collaboration - they have very similar vocal qualities - I think that would be interesting...

The HP Pavilion was almost sold out - I was surprised.

If there is in fact something less than KOIT, then yes, "nothing less."
