SFist Photo: Barack Obama Wows Us in San Francisco

A large, youthful, and enthusiastic crowd welcomed Senator Obama to San Francisco's Civic Center last night.

To finish off a busy day down south at Google and also Steve Westly's house, Barack Obama came to visit and take a few jabs at fellow senator Clinton.

More after the jump.

Read all about it here and see it here.

Mr. Obama's message seems to resonate with students in particular. In any event, he's got the momentum.

Stay tuned.

The man might be charismatic but he has absolutely no experience running an organization, nor does he have much experience navigating through Washington. Do you really think someone with no experience can just step right in?

works for our local politicos

how do they pick who sits behind him? is it blatantly a "just for show" thing? did they enter-to-win a spot on stage? are they working on the campaign? were they being presented with an award? i've always wondered about this...

that guy in the white looks like he found jesus.

Slick move by the Obama campaign getting Alan Cranston to show up.

Cindy: Yes.

We have had a retard in the White House for the last 7 years - I think Obama will do just fine.

The people chosen to sit on-stage were campaign supporters; one lady gave a short summary about her efforts with the Obama campaign and another was an essay-contest winner from a Palo Alto high school.

Whoever thinks Obama doesn't "have experience" is soaking up Clinton's rhetoric. If you have read Obama's book, listened to him debate (always without planted questions), or viewed his track record (which is consistent and not waffling), you will realize that he has more than enough political savvy to become president.

He has three years experience as a Senator.

Which for a country accustomed to electing a fuckup Governor slash baseball team owner is good enough.

My wife is a registered Republican and might be switching sides to vote for this guy. He's just not a hater, and that is mighty appealing.

No cured gay gospel singers on this swing I see

Yes, the senate has been a roaring success over the last three years, hasn't it? Thank you Obama and Hilary.

Why are they all visiting google? Are they handing out checks? Can I have one? Or are there an unusually high number of registered voters down there?

Can someone please explain what that resist shirt means? "Resist Change" maybe? ha.

Also, the little girl (?) on the front under the "E" in "Change." Is she old enough to vote? Or maybe she's just there to explain poltergeists.

would people love this guy so much if he were white? honestly...

Would people hate Clinton so much if she were male?

(it's a valid question, I'm just playing devil's advocate...)

No. Men who act like Hillary are called "bold," "ballsy" and "take charge."

Women like her are called "castrating bitches."

I was there, and was happy to note that Frank Chu supports Barack Obama.

Barack was pretty bad in the debate last night. Hillary, on the other hand, had some balls of steel and boldly took charge. (we may as well start now, eh bluecanary?)
