MISO Nameless

The swell chaps over at Curbed SF have a poll going on about what to name the district that SFist brought to your attention yesterday. You need to vote, people! Rock it, as a matter of fact. Otherwise, TODO Magazine will get to christen each and every block of this city.
We like the name "Sweet Pea Place," but Curbed readers have suggested the following: "SOMISSPO," "The Potrission," "Mitrero," "The Submission," or "MIS-O-PO" as the choices. Visit them and take their poll, or let us know. You know, whatev.
Next up? That little strip of Second Street between Stillman and Harrison. And that bit of block where you find Flax and Martuni's. Name them. We simply won't rest until every bit on concrete is branded accordingly.
Image blatantly stolen from Curbed SF.

how about Hipnub
short for:
Hipsters have Nuthin' Better to do
Ah dear SFist, you forgot: "Mitrero" came from your clever reader, not ours!
Following last week's throwdown with readers who claim that we're operating out of NYC, we decided to set the record straight. Between you, us, and TODO, we'll name this bitch yet!
if you check wikimapia, apparently a cousin of wikipedia, someone has designated the stretch of 17th to the overpass along mission street "sketchy valley"
i like that.
Actually I would love to get a name for the whole Duboce @ Valencia hill area. I've been calling it Taco Bell Heights since I moved there four years ago.
How about WeLickMoP - short for West of the James Lick Freeway in Mission/Protero.
"Taco Bell Heights" is sheer genius. I used to live across the street from that fast food hybrid for a couple of years. I stopped going to TB when they asked me if I wanted "the regular."
"Actually I would love to get a name for the whole Duboce @ Valencia hill area. I've been calling it Taco Bell Heights since I moved there four years ago."
Isn't it obvious - its the V-Dub, yo.
The Triangle bordered by Valencia/Duboce/Market is the "Bermuda Triangle" for obvious reasons.
The area by the Slow Club can be called "KQED Slope/Heights/Gulch/Ravine ect..."
the planning department calls that area the NEMIZ - North East Mission Industrial Zone.
i know, crazee.
Ha.
The Submission? I like it!
I vote for MISO HORNY.
Its Taco Bell Terrace get it right!
I'm tellin' you, it's called "the crotch"
I've always thought of the neighborhood as extending from about Harrison out to 280/7th St, and my personal name has been "Potrero Flats" for some time now.
The strip of 2nd street in question is SOQNO-21 (prounounced Sock-No-21)
As in, South of Quiznos North of 21st Amendment.
...glad I could help.
I've been calling it the buttcrack due to the shape of the freeway and the neighborhood :)
Due to all the fixture boutiques and all, and isn't it below sea level as well?... I'd call it "the Sink."
"Taco Bell Heights".
Why oh why did SFist do away with Top 5 Comments of the Week?
Cause that was nuthin but net.
Shitplace Square
Oh, and couldn't the 2nd St. snippet be best described as the Fountain district? It's at least as big as the 17th St. Upholstery district.
Then again, maybe Moscone Heights? West Rincon? North South Park?
Who cares?
Whatever it's going to be named, no one will know what the hell it means if they see it one a map.
I may be mistaken but I thought that area was called the "taint."
Um, I live there, and it is DEFINITELY the SUBMISSION.
someone please name the stretch of divisadero from fulton to fell. not quite western addition, not quite lower haight, no one likes NOPA, and does not actually border alamo square.
i am having an identity crisis.
Hey Kay!
I live in that area and I've always called it the Lower Haight. But I suppose thechnically it's out of bounds. For crime reporting purposes it's either Alamo Square if you're on the east side of Diviz, or North Panhandle if you're on the west. I think Alamo Flats would be a great name!
If I don't call it Lower Haight, I'll call it Middle Haight or "the land between the Haights." But I think Alamo Flats is perfect for the Fell to Fulton area. Whaddya think?
how have i not heard submission? that's where i'm telling people i live from now on. or maybe sketch valley, that's cool, too.
I think we live in the same building, Davey.
