I could not agree with Deborah more. Rob Cox's new heart is awesome. Last year he created a Tabletop Heart, also for the SF General Hospital Foundation, of the Summer of Love anniversary, that is also uber-fabulous. You can see it HERE. Rob's creation this year is full-size and (am I allowed to say?) an amazing 3-D painting of our very own dear Ferry Building.... at dusk... It's amazing.

Some individual hearts might be good, but taken as a whole public project, I'm with Brock here: insipid. As an essay in Suck argued seven years ago: those damn things are the opposite of art.

I was lucky enough to preview Rob Cox's heart during the Castro Street Fair. It's gonna be awesome, fo sho.
