Caltrain vs. Garbage Truck

No, there was no collision involving a train. However, a garbage truck apparently struck a bridge in San Mateo, holding up all southbound traffic for about 20 minutes. At first, our weary-sounding conductor said that we would have to wait for a track inspection to determine when we could depart from San Francisco -- "if at all," he added ominously.

We're now rolling south about 20-30 minutes behind schedule, pulling into Millbrae at the scheduled time for the Palo Alto stop (for you die-hard city-dwellers, these are the names of locales on the peninsula to the south of the City).

Update: Moving at the speed of a spry octogenarian, we just went over the bridge that had been hit by the garbage truck.

Sorry, no picture -- guess the iPhone can't do everything after all.
