SFist Photo: Animals Eating Plastic in Golden Gate Park
Mmmm ... plastic. That could have been what was on the mind of this seabird when it was trying to eat this piece of garbage floating around in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park

Despite our recent attempts to try to start improving things, we've got more and more discarded plastic around us. Whether or not the bird was able to choke down a tiny meal, this tiny plastic tube could be well on its way to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in the North Pacific Gyre. Good luck, animals.

just another symptom of our throw away society. i find that smokers are the worst. how can anyone with a brain just toss a cigarette or match out the window or sunroof of their moving car? i see it all the time. it made me wish we banned smoking in cars since that might the only way to stop them from doing this.
sorry for the rant and possible hi-jack.
Just think of all the plastics that have already broken down to the molecular level, and are now lodged in your cells, in your brain, in your very genes..
CNN did on series lately about how we as humans are ruining the planet.
Anderson Cooper got blood tested for 100s of chemicals, and came up positive for 150[?] Those testing him said they have no idea how toxic [if at all] the majority of the stuff is.
He was off the map high on the chemicals found in make-up, since they cake it on him every day.
Trannys beware!
Anderson Cooper trivia- his mother is Gloria Vanderbilt, so he's a poor little rich boy of a poor little rich girl.
that bird is eating a tampon applicator. how sad.
and people wonder why you are so much more likely to die of cancer than old age.
Figured that's what it was, but wasn't sure.
