-- Salute Day of the Dead: Before tomorrow's Dia de los Muertos celebration and march, be sure to check out this pre-party featuring music from Steve Taylor-Ramírez, Theresa Perez, and Drew Harrison. Begins tonight at 9:30 p.m. at RetoxSF; $7.

-- Poor White Trash II (AKA Scum of the Earth -- 1974): This Southern Gothic drama is also described as a "claustrophobic sweaty tale of a lost woman trapped by an incestuous, murderous backwoods family." S.F. Brownrigg's gem of '70s cinema screens tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

-- Manicato: Local Latin-rock outfit pumps out their signature beats starting at 9 p.m. at Bruno's.

-- Night of the Dead Poetry Party: And to further whet your appetite for the dead, check out the Foundation for Creative Expression (yes, there is a foundation for that) night o' words, featuring Jennifer Barone, Charlie Getter, Maria Medina Serafin, Pablo Rosales, Tatiana Molinar, Mattie Bamman, and Chaotron. Starts tonight at 8 p.m. at 8 p.m., the Beat Museum; donations accepted at the door.
