Ironically, everyone knew Ed Jew didn't live in the Sunset before he ran. He thought he would get away with it, just like Leland Yee, Michelle Alioto-Pier, and Carole Migden. In fact, it would have been wink-wink-sure-we-know-you-live-in-the-Sunset-Ed, but for two mistakes. First, Ed never made deals with anyone. He was an independent voter, and garnered plenty of ill will from the other sups and the Mayor. Second, of course, he asked for and receive a bribe from Quickly to expedite their permit problem. Had Ed avoided those two mistakes, he would have served out his term, and no one would have made a fuss about his residency.
