SFist Answers -- Park at Scott and Waller?

Remember, if you ask it, our readers can answer it. Why, even these guys are getting in on the quizzical fun, too! (Be sure to ask Eve how to fit your logo inside the ball; she created it. We're all thumbs when it comes to graphics.)
But we received this urgent question from someone about a park we've neither seen nor frolicked in. Maybe you have an answer regarding this mystifying Scott and Waller area? (Do check out Google's street view of the park. Right now, they're using the most festive witch icon in lieu of the yellow man.)
I read your site regularly. I was wondering if someone in your office could enlighten me regarding the little park/ meditation thing at Scott and Waller. It has been fenced off since completion about 6-7 months ago. It looks like its in great condition to be opened.
City parks are the retaining walls of a successful city. Okay, we just made that up. But...anyone know about this slice of park? Will it be re-opened soon? Will meditation in SF prevail? Let us know.

Why is it closed? http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/10/29/BATDT08J1.DTL
Indeed, what is up with this lil park thing? It has been fenced off for several months after completion. Now, I do see some hippie troupe doing some sort of practice there from time to time. During practice, the tall chainlink fence is put aside (no small task), only to return after they are done. Weird.
Haha, I saw that same hippy troupe the other day. I thought they were practicing for Thriller. They've also been doing weird dance stuff in Duboce Park. I thought they were SCA at first, then I thought they were Thriller dancers when I saw them in that weird little walking meditation concrete section of the mini-park. Hippies run free in that park, why can't we?
I emailed Ross' assistant Regina for more information, but never heard back from her.
Perfect, a labyrinth trapped in the bureaucratic labyrinth that is Rec and Park.
Surely only in San Francisco.
Speaking of mystery parks, does anyone know about the Noe-Beaver Mini Park? It's always closed but is full of what looks to be beautiful, well-tended flowers!
