Teh muni service is soooo unreliable that even the news about it from a "reliable" source (i.e., cameraphone boy) is too late to be useful. To prove how much I hate the muni, I'm gonna drive my car more, park in the bus zones, ride my bike full speed through crowded sidewalks, then I'm going to move to yurp. That will teach thems good. MM, don't worry brah, of course it wasn't your fault that the news was posted late. It was the union's... Well actually before that it was the fault of the incompetent bureaucrats that run the system. We all know it is Muni's fault that y'all's writing is so unacceptable. It is too bad that we don't have a nextsfistpost to see when the bloggy blog will be updated. Until then we'll keep rereading the weaklies.

Sometimes a cab comes by with nobody it and refuses to pick anyone up because there's a frustrated person at home or at a bar or an office somewhere who called for a cab over an hour ago and hasn't yet been picked up, because the three cabs that were coming to pick that person up stopped for random folks on the corner before they got to the pickup.

I saw four 71 buses go by in the space of about 3 minutes (all inbound). Bunched up as usual on a Saturday night. When the streets have even the slightest bit of traffic, Muni falls apart. Saturday seemed only slightly worse than normal out here on the west side. That is, Muni service was unacceptable, but not likely to improve in our lifetimes. Just suck it up, and pray that you don't have to be anywhere on time.

Have no idea how well Muni did last night (I did notice an actual 22 Fillmore around 2) but the cab situation was the usual muck-up. When there's like twenty people at one corner, all looking for a cab, and some cab driver without anyone in the cab refuses to pick anybody up, there's something not quite right.
