SFist Photo: Bike vs. Car at Halloween Critical Mass

Yet another bicycle rim taco'ed in a collision during the monthly undocumented parade known as Critical Mass. Thurston Howell III waits for CSI San Francisco to arrive while a nucular panner plant worker rolls on by.

It was costume night at Critical Mass events all over the country yesterday. More after the jump.

Photos of costumed riders here. This one taken with a cheap Canon and a $50 lens is nice.

We hope people aren't calling 911 after all these non-injury accidents. The first question the operator will have for you is, "what's your emergency?" Something to think about before you dial. The first question the responding cops will have is, "who is injured?" If the answer is nobody, then they'll want to get you out of traffic pronto. Else you might get arrested or something. There's always a balance between your immediate concerns and the risk of causing another accident.

And speaking of getting arrested, a Masser in Washington state was arrested last night for the inaptly-named transgression called Pedestrian Interference. Basically, the cyclist was interfering with the smooth flow of car traffic. Or something.

The driver of the out-of-state Lincoln Navigator in the first shot spun a good tale about being cut off, having witnesses and needing to get seizure medication for a passenger. Sounded credible, but we didn't hear from all concerned so we don't know.

Let's be careful out there. Happy Halloween.

This wobbly-looking cowboy might have been rolling his way to Friday Night Skates Hope he made it..

yay critical mass! last night's ride was absolutely incredible!

This minor accident was on Monty in the Financial a little bit before 6:30 PM.

which one of you guys tagged the palm tree planter last month on king and townsend with 'ride a bike' ?

not that i don't appreciate the sentiment but tagging public property is not cool

In North Beach, some guy almost punched my friend in the face. I dont think i was making it any better by saying, "Hey Bro, Calm down."

We had a blast though. Long live amazing mike rides!
