SF Works: Knife Sharpener

One of the few remaining knife sharpeners left in SF these days, this is a must-listen. Why? Because it's important to get your knives sharpened. (America's Test Kitchen can't stress it enough!) But Jivano sharpens more than haughty Sur La Table cutlery. Take a listen.

Jivano used to sharpen all our scissors and knives back in ye' ole' leathersmithing days...dude was (probably still is) a stone-cold whetstone freak, could hone one mean edge though...

Jivano is a good sharpener. A better one is Perfectedge Sharpening. They are a mobile sharpening service that handles the knifes of the top restaurants in the bay area. They also have several drop off locations for the public. In SF they are: Cooks Boulevard, Cheese Plus and Hardware Unlimited (each site every monday).
If their truck is there sharpening take a look inside. They have a great selection of cutlery being sold from the truck.
