Since there is a photo of the tower, it reminded me of the fact that it's not earthquake safe. Groups of people who live near it in the large "fall zone" having been fighting the issue for years with zero results. Squish squash. If you've never been up close, it's worth a trip to Midtown Terrace area. Take the 36 Teresita from Forest Hill, and ask the driver to let you out at the stop closest to the tower. The base legs are enormous compared to the houses that are directly next to it. You can't get to the actual base for security reasons, but you can get close. This would make a great story.
