SoCal Fires Monopolize Local News

Hey! What about us?
sutrosad.jpg

SFGate
, KRON, KTVU, don't you care about San Francisco anymore? We understand that the fires down south are awesomely devastating, but there's still stuff going on here that we need to know about...isn't there? We feel so neglected.

Pay attention to us, pretty please? We promise we'll be good, and stay out of the Castro on Halloween. We'll even maybe pretend to care about mayoral elections. Well, if we try, will you throw us a bone?

Look at how sad Sutro Tower is. You're giving him a complex.

what local news?

you mean the Thriller dance off thats happening this weekend?

Or maybe you're talking about the hour long N-Judah wait this morning...

Keep your chin up. We're one Castro Halloween riot away from getting right back in this thing.

wow. innersunsetfog, i hope that you're vying for a contributor position cuz that was almost as snarky as the posters!

haha, no not vying for a contributor position.

actually this blog has inspired me to move to Berkeley.

then our job is done.

Everyone moves to Berkeley. It's part of becoming a grown up. Own home, partner, kids, Berkeley.

I always thought people went to Hayes Valley to grow up.

Since there is a photo of the tower, it reminded me of the fact that it's not earthquake safe.

Groups of people who live near it in the large "fall zone" having been fighting the issue for years with zero results. Squish squash.

If you've never been up close, it's worth a trip to Midtown Terrace area. Take the 36 Teresita from Forest Hill, and ask the driver to let you out at the stop closest to the tower.

The base legs are enormous compared to the houses that are directly next to it.

You can't get to the actual base for security reasons, but you can get close.

This would make a great story.

I don't wanna grow up / I'm a Lower Haight kid / They got a million bars & shops & pubs that I can play in /

that tune is going to be in my head. all. day. now.

hahaha. thank you for that.

You couldn't have waited an hour for the N-Judah. Didn't you see the Gavin's Powerpoint presentation on how Muni has improved? Reality has no right to question the Gav.
