is it a part of us because we are a compassionate, open-minded city? or is it a part of us because 99.9% of the people who live in this city are from Southern California? i'm still trying to figure this out. personally, i don't feel sorry for these people at all. they shouldn't be living there in the first place. we, as San Franciscans should be appaled that they've been allowed to displace any one of the millions of animals that lived in these canyons before. come on people, if we're not part of the solution, we're part of the problem.

Here's the transcript & audio clip of what Glenn Beck said. Too bad the decent point Beck is attempting to make gets nuked by that one stupid comment. It's doesn't seem as offensive as the "Nappy Headed Ho" comment from Don Imus, but people who disagree with Beck will be calling in by the dozens for him to be fired. Oh, about the fire, I feel bad for the people losing their property. Seems like there ought to be some way to protect a house from being so flammable (i.e. fire retardant or foam sprayed over the roof before a fire blows through?).

It's a shame for anyone to lose their home, but it is more of a shame for a firefighter to lose his life trying to protect a home built in one of these tinderbox canyons. When will these people abandon their fantasies of wilderness?
