Actually, the problem is that both games feature AFC teams and only one channel, CBS, carries AFC Games. So if the Raiders sell out, there's no other channel (other than the NFL Network or Direct TV) that can show the game. Unless, of course, the NFL gets wise and realizes that everybody, and I mean everybody, wants to see this game and just says screw and moves the Raiders game to, like the CW or some other channel. Or, they can just move it to the Sunday night game on NBC which is the smart move and why isn't that the game anyways?

the NFL created the stupid blackout rules so of course they won't break em.

it really is time they move to the 21st century and make those games available to people other than directTv subscribers - all the other leagues are available on comcast..

it is ironic and hilarious that the nfl network is imploring viewers to write to congress to protest the fact that comcast bitch slapped them by moving their channel out of the regular lineup into the 'sports' lineup, which apparently killed their ratings and coverage by 20% or something. they are claiming it is anti-trust type of behavior etc. but have no problem locking most of their fans out of the other 200+ games that aren't shown on nfl network.

in the end they will hopefully come to their senses and realize that there's a lot more money to be made by letting fans watch the games they want.

Seems like a no-brainer that there are many, many, many more people in the Bay Area who want to see Colts-Pats than Raiders-Whoever. I think this is an example of the NFL still thinking it's 1967 - where hometown team loyalty won out over everything. But it's 2007, where (at least thanks to ESPN/national media hype) fans tend to get more excited about the marquee teams than their own, especially if their own teams suck. Can you blame them?

Or just watch on NFL Sunday Ticket. Seriously, it's worth it. (Assuming you can get DirecTV.)
