Alter or demolish are two good options. Was the hexagonal Fred Flintstone window an afterthought or part of the original design? But they wanted to get rid of cable cars back in the late 40's, and that would've been a mistake, huh? Perhaps history will be kind to this bus shelter. You readers are so clever and learn-ed. Yeah north of downtown Sausalito. Right next to a 7-11 if I'm correct. I actually like this bus stop. It's awesome in it's cool Battlestar Galactica porportions. Who needs another glass box with brushed metal anyway? I say keep the bus stop and do something else more useful with the money. Besides it still works well as a bus stop, and in fact probably does a better job sheltering people from the elements then newer less substantial designs. They just don't make 'em like they used to!

Yes, but the historical context is that the soldiers from Fort Baker used it as a restroom.

This bus shelter actually has a historical context dating back to Fort Baker. We at Marin County Shelter Preservation Coalition are appealing the deciscion to alter or possibly demolish this historical gem. Please contact Golden Gate Transit and ask them not to alter this Marin County artifact.

My vote for ugliest bus stop in SF. Across the street from Forest Hill Station. A long hospital pink wall punctuated by a shelter which smells alternately of piss and new paint. I spent many a day there waiting for the 36 Terecita.

I'm guessing somewhere in Marin too (you can see the Golden Gate Transit sign). Lovely place, but with more than its share of not-exactly-modern infrastructure.
