MySpace to Open SF Office This Week

With Facebook winning over many of its users these days, MySpace is all set to open up a San Francisco location near AT&T Park in an effort get hip, or something like that.
What's more, the Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation-owned site plans to hire over 200 new employees, redesign the site, and allow users to add widgets. Fear not MySpace suicide contemplators; you might not have to take jump.
This comes on the heels of other web giants, like Google and Wikipedia, who are making moves to San Francisco. Because we rule.

Wake me up when youporn.com relocates here...
Yay! Just what we need. More rich white kids on fixies with tight black pants thinking the Mission is the bestest of all places on earth and they must do everything to protect it and they get to smoke pot where ever they want and they never get into trouble and they get themselves a cool urban dog type and to to the St. Francis Fountain and their mommies and daddies help fund the whole thing on top of the entry level $90,000 a year heck mommy or daddy may even call the boss if their darling child gets a bad review.
Get haircuts! Get some gears! And the Mission, no matter how gentrified it becomes will always stink of urine.
wow.. someone has some issues about the Millennial Generation I think.
Welcome to the neighborhood, MySpace! Thanks for providing more jobs in San Francisco.
San Francisco rules, not because Google or Wikipedia are tenants, but because of Kink.com and Craigslist.
We are the internet, aren't we SF? Oh yes, we so are.
All the internet that counts, anyway.
Now about that municipal wifi ...
It's because of the new bubble. Companies getting dumb money VC and massive buyouts are willing to spend the extra cash on SF real estate, which in other times is viewed as a luxury.
Nice for the commuters who have a shorter trip to work, but don't for a minute read this as an endorsement of the business climate in SF.
Time to bring back the Industry Standard rooftop parties!
Cranky - you think that smoking pot should be criminalized? It somehow bothers you? Maybe you shouldn't live in ANY city - or most suburbs, or up north, or in the central valley... you know, if you have such animus towards pot smokers, you might find California a little rough going.
I don't even smoke pot by the way, and I live in the mission. When the kids's frisbee ends up my lawn I too shake my fist and holler.
Maybe one day the City will look exactly like you want it to. But until then, lets bitch about it on the interwebs.
Millenials are just as bad as their self absorbed childish boomer parents.
Pot is illegal. I just get tired of second hand smoke -- especially when it's coming out of the car in front of me. Get some manners pot smokers. It's second hand smoke and not healthy for other people.
I'm sick of California and I've been here for 20 years.
