Owner of the now-closed hungry i -- which booked such talent as Woody Allen, Barbra Streisand, Mort Sahl, Bill Cosby, and the Kingston Trio, to name a few -- and the beloved Enrico's, Enrico Banducci, died in his sleep this morning at 85.

We love Enrico's. One of the first places we visited when we started venturing into North Beach terrain while reporting on SF nightlife, we recommend you head over there tonight or tomorrow night (still open, right?) for a toast or six in honor of Banducci.
