SFist Watches: Even More Wednesday Fall TV Premieres
Tonight's big premiere is the quirky comedy "Pushing Daisies" which premieres at 8 p.m. on ABC. There are a lot of big names associated with this dramedy, including executive producer Bryan Fuller, whose previous shows include "Wonderfalls" and "Heroes." Director Barry Sonnenfeld also produces, and directed the pilot. Lee Pace stars as a piemaker who can bring the dead back to life if he touches them. Problem is, if he touches them again, they're dead for good. Bring in a dead first love, and you can see where that could get tricky. And, because every show on TV has to involve some element of crime or procedurals, the piemaker uses this gift to help solve murders.
We haven't seen the pilot, but from what we've read, and the clips we've seen, this could either be delightful or completely and utterly annoying.
On the cable front are season premieres of "South Park" and "The Sarah Silverman Program" on Comedy Central at 10 and 10:30 p.m., and the premiere of yet another reality series on Bravo, called "Better Half," in which spouses trade jobs or something and then win a bunch of money. Which should help with the inevitable divorces to follow.
But speaking of Bravo, are we the only ones that are no longer getting Bravo on cable channel 48? Our TiVo has told us it's moved to channel 181, which means you're shit out of luck if you don't have digital cable and want to watch Bravo (and the "Top Chef" finale tonight)! A call to Comcast found them just as confused as we were about the change, which makes total sense. It's not like they RUN THE CABLE SYSTEM or anything. If you've seen a similar change let us know. And then let's all storm the Comcast offices and kick some ass!
