Q checks in. Quintin Mecke addressed dozens of supporters at the grand opening of his campaign HQ on Haight Street.

Well the election is just a little more than a month away now, not that it's easy to tell. Didn't really go looking for it, but we saw a few of the candidates over the weekend.
You can see them too, after the jump.
Here's popular “Chicken John” Rinaldi wheeling a bunch of people around in a sweet 1968 GMC New Look bus. He must have Popeye forearms by now.
Everybody seems to like the guy. See his non-campaign campaign website here. Did he really say that the people challenging Gavin Newsom for mayor of San Francisco are "all lambs being led to the slaughter?" Just what we need, more barnyard animals. See him with yet another animal in his infamous "courtesy photo" here and some more shots from Scott Beale here.
And this is what we saw from nightclub owner Michael Powers - a few signs like these on busy Folsom Street:

Will we see a freewheeling debate, something like this event from a half decade ago?

Signs point to no. But we'll probably get a candidate forum that includes the mayor in about ten days. And that might be it.
If you have the interest, meet all your candidates at the official site.
