Listing of the Week: 401 Marietta Drive (Miraloma Park)

We were out for a leisurely weekend walk up to Tower Market from our abode in the Sunnyside. Instead of heading straight up Teresita, we decided to do something a little different and detour onto Marietta Drive. ‘Tis true, we live life on the edge.

While cruising down this precious, semi-hidden lane, we happened upon an open house for 401 Marietta Drive. Despite our sweats and sneakers, we decided to go ahead and horrify the realtor by entering the house for a look-see.

After getting over the very unassuming exterior, our initial reaction upon walking inside was space, space, space. 2,422 sq. ft. to be exact. The property has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and not those dinky little half bathrooms that are added illegally. Real bathrooms, with showers! There are not one, but two living rooms; one up and one down. The upstairs living room is really a great room, since the kitchen and dining area are open to the living room. The best feature upstairs is the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and the view. The best feature downstairs is the living room (which we would turn into the master bedroom) and the view.

Have we mentioned the view? You can practically see everything to the east and to the south. There are a couple of decks and plenty of windows from which you can enjoy the Daly City lights. Also, there is no neighbor to the left AND there's hiking space right outside.

Negatives: Floor-to-ceiling wood paneling upstairs and disgrossting carpet throughout. Also, the price: $1,199,999 is a lot of cash. But, you all know how crazy the market is right now. And it is less than $54 million and $9.8 million.

We really like the neighborhood and how unexpected a house of this size is in Miraloma Park.

For more details and pictures, go to the property’s website or go here. Or, see what Zillow has to say here.

P.S. On our walk back down the hill, we ran into Tony, the creepy Sunnyside stalker/gardener.
