I haven't seen any of the new Ken Burns doc yet, but considering he is one of today's most thoughtful documentarians, don't you at least want to give him a shot before criticisizing him for rehashing the old? Is it at all possible he can bring a new perspective?

Ken Burns is telling us about THE LAST WAR WE ACTUALLY WON. It'll be fun to see those ugly olive drab uniforms triumph over those nifty, sharp looking grey ones. And those guys "goose stepping"--how'd they do that without tipping over? And that little dip with the electrical tape under his nose-- he'll be on too! It's all stuff we've seen before, just presented in a slightly different order. Every other TV network gives us new stuff. PBS gives us a mashup of reruns. It kinda makes me want to send KQED an IOU.
