SFist Watches: Sunday's Fall TV Premieres
Tonight's Fall premieres contain only one show we'll actually be watching (see above). But let's start with some of the shows we won't be watching.
CBS has moved the James Woods law drama "Shark" from Thursdays to Sundays and it debuts in its new slot tonight at 10 p.m. We watched the first few episodes of the show last year, and decided, since we aren't big James Woods fans, the show had nothing else to offer us. It was a modest hit for the network, however, it remains to be seen if it can survive a timeslot shift. It's preceded by the season premiere of "Cold Case" at 9 p.m., a show we have never, ever, watched. The network is hyping this premiere a lot based on the fact that a bunch of Nirvana songs will be featured throughout the hour. Umm. OK then.
Over on Fox its Sunday line-up of animated comedies continues with the 8 p.m. premiere of "The Simpsons" with Stephen Colbert guest starring as Homer's new life coach. We hear spider pig will be making a cameo as well!
"King of the Hill" follows at 8:30pm, and a special one hour "Star Wars"-infused premiere of "Family Guy" ends the night at 9 p.m. There are many reasons why we hate "Family Guy," but we'll just let this video clip illustrate one of them.
And of course we mustn't forget Ken Burns's 103 hour long documentary "Teh War" which starts tonight on PBS at 9 p.m. Yes, yes, we're sure it's the most brilliant thing to ever grace the television airwaves, but we're just plain sick of hearing about it. Since this is PBS, you can be sure it will be re-run for years to come, so if you don't find you can invest the time now, we're sure there will be plenty of opportunities down the road.
