Can you guess where we are in San Francisco? It's pretty much one intersection.

Changes are afoot for the cost of the fines you'll pay for some traffic violations (such as unlawful passing and overtaking, excessive speed, reckless driving and drunken driving) in some parts of San Francisco. How does a 100% price increase grab you? See you after the jump.
Well, the intersection is Park Presidio at Geary Boulevard in the Richmond. Take a gander here. It's a major traffic artery - so much so that neighboring Funston and 14th kind of get lost in it and you end up with six NO LEFT TURN signs in a row.
Sometimes, when people talk about Park Presidio, they call it 19th Avenue or the 19th Avenue Corridor, something like that. It's the same basic road going from the San Francisco State area all the way up to the Presidio. It's a little bit on the dangerous side, to say the least.
Comes now Senator Leland Yee PhD. with his plan to designate the whole corridor a double-fine zone. Is this a done deal? Signs point to yes but we won't know for sure until the law books are changed. The sooner the better.
Will it help?
It can't hurt.
