According to the Chronicle, police arrested a suspect in the killing of a man and wounding of a woman outside Jillian's nightclub -- a venue known in the club scene for its somewhat douchebaggie clientele -- located at the steely mega-complex, the Metreon. The shootings took place before 2 a.m. this morning at Fourth and Howard Streets. The area has seen a spike in crime since the openings of Bloomingdale's and the Westfield Shopping Center Centre.
Alas, this year's crime wave in SF sees no signs of abating. Maybe it will during the autumn months? We'll see.

Jillian's has one of the worst promotional posters in the window facing Howard Street near 4th - it is a picture of a woman's head lying down on the bar, apparently passed out from what I can tell, and a good number of men and women are leaning over her and laughing. What the heck? Come to our bar and drink until you pass out? Douche bags indeed.

There was also a significant amount of blood outside of Annabelle's across the street. It was cleaned up by the afternoon, but you can still see some red in the sidewalk cracks.

The people were probably shot for pissing some psycho off with their bad grammar. It's really not that hard to envisage something of this caliber occurring in this city, especially outside a ghetto-respectable venue like Jillians.
