While I can see the point of a chain store ban in the Castro why are they considering banks as part of it? I mean, maybe it's just me, but I don't really see a bank as something that's going to be competing against local businesses. Does anyone want to use a bank that only has one branch in their neighborhood? Or even worse, one branch across town?

I'd say that the ban seems fine, but if WaMu wants to put in a reasonably-sized branch let them. Those of us who don't want to spend $3 a pop to get money from the ATM or run all over town just to make a deposit are always thankfully when we can actually go to the bank.

It may be trivial, but let's show Captain Denis O'Leary of the Southern Station that we want to keep him as the Captain of our police station in SoMa, Rincon Hill, South Beach, and Treasure Island instead of letting Chief Fong reassign him to Ingleside without an explanation.

http://www.petitiononline.com/Oleary/petition.html

Pass it along. Captain O'Leary's scheduled last day as Southern Station's Captain is 9/15/07.
