I assume it refers to the Olympic Club, but Harding Park was a big deal back then, too.

The shooting range is down off John Muir Dr near Skyline. I used to do the Lake Merced loop once in a while, but the repeated sound of gunfire kind of f's up the tranquility.

Blocker is great! You should turn this into a book or something of that ilk.

There's a golf course, but I'm not sure about the country club. There's also a shooting range down there somewhere, so maybe it's that kind of country to which they're referring.

I have to confess we have some friends that live or lived on that street. They used to drive everywhere, even to get coffee, and then one of them went kind of nuts. They're finally divorced, we think, but even that has been back and forth for years.

Well I suppose its probably public (dear god), but there's a golf course right there on your map in the lower right hand corner by Lake Merced. If it wasn't for the ridiculous fog in that area -- and I love me some sunshine -- I think it's really awesome out there. In an Edward Scissorhands sort of way.
