Sigh... Ed should just give-up. I've always said, regardless if he wins or loses in this court case, his reputation and his career is ruined.
I'm surprised that he came back from his China trip a few months ago when this all started.
I doubt the people who voted Ed into office voted for him based on the (incorrect) assumption that he lived in the district.
People voted for Ed Jew because Ed the candidate appealed to them, more so than the other predictable and/or mudslinging candidates. If I were in that district, I probably would've voted for him too (that is, before it came out that Ed doesn't actually live in San Francisco).
Most SF'ers probably desire a Board of Supervisors that actually does useful work and isn't a circus.
But back to Ed, I hope he goes down with a fight, instead of a whimper.
I'm not bothered too much about the residency thing (and we suspect he's not the only one technically breaking those rules). But the bribery thing's kinda a big deal, no?
Come on folks!!! He LIED about where he lives... to run for office.... the chron says he's a 3rd generation SF - but if he doesn't LIVE in San Francisco.... he needs to step down! Maybe run for office in Burlingame? What part of LIVE in his district wasn't clear when he ran for office?

People, people, people. He's your SUPERVISOR. Which means he supervises your neighborhood, watches things over. In order to do so he needs to live there, it seems like a minimum requirement. Then he lies and says he does live there when he doesn't? All with a bribery charge in the works too. Please Ed Jew, for the good of our fair city, leave already, it used to be almost funny now it's something a lot more sad and increasingly, blatantly wrong.
But, but who else will bring the sun to the Sunset?!
The time has come.
The time is now.
Just go. Go. GO!
I don't care how.
You can go on stilts.
You can go by fish.
You can go in a Zip-Car if you wish.
You can go by foot.
You can go by cow.
Supervisor Jew, will you please go now!
You can go by carpool
and take the rideshare lane.
You can leave that empty house,
go back to Burlingame.
You can go on skates.
You can go on skis.
You can go in a hat.
But please go. Please!
You can go
In an old blue shoe.
Just go, go, GO!
Please do, do, do, DO!
You may go
By lion's tail.
Or stamp yourself
And go by mail.
Supervisor Jew,
Don't you know
The time has come
To go, go, GO!
Take the N-Judah!
Get on your way!
You might like going in a Zumble-Zay.
You can go by camel
In a bureau drawer.
You can buy a MUNI pass
At the tapioca store.
You can go by bumble-boat,
or cable car, or jet.
I don't care how you go.
Just get!
You can go on horseback
Like an old cowboy movie.
Ride off out of the Sunset
And those claims of perjury.
Supervisor Jew
I don't care how.
Supervisor Jew
Will you please
GO NOW!
Tendernob,YOU are FUNNY!!!!
MalcoveMagnesia, do you honestly think many people would have voted for him if they knew he lived in Burlingame?
There's a reason why he lied. And now that he's caught, it's time for him to go.
To be fair, I'm not really sure if the people who voted him in care all that much, at least about the residency thing.
Um, HELLLOOOOOO?! MM, that's part, just part, of why he needs to go... nevermind the bribery and the lying...
@Tendernob:
*clap clap clap clap clap*
SFist... If Ed Jew resigned, I would not have any reason to check your web page five times every day.
Thendernob,
Standing ovation for your song!!! It seems to go to the music of "Get Here", which makes it even more creative. But damn it- I'll have that tune in my head for days now.

I just posted in another thread, a campaign slogan for Frank Chu who should be Jew's replacement.
"First you had a Jew-boo hoo,
now you'll have a Chu-cosmic too"
Those of you who want to chime in on the possibility of Jew getting off may do so here:

The problem is I think none of you get it. Alioto-Pier, Sandoval, Migden, Shelley - all these people have been hit with allegations of either residence fraud, fiscal impropriety, or both. Yet none are getting a hammer up their bum like Ed Jew is.
Ed Jew looks and thinks different from the city's political elite and they don't want him around. That's what this is all about, whether he's guilty or not.
Think about it: if he's not taking a pleas deal, he must be pretty confident of the outcome. And if he's forced to resign anyway (likely), what will the blowback be?
Remember when Leland Yee threatened to split the school district?
Tendernob gets my vote for Top 5.

Yek, no thanks!

Look, everybody's got a theory. But the reality of the situation is, OBVIOUSLY there is something wrong when he is supervising a neighborhood he doesn't even live in. You can talk fancy all you want, but Jew's bad news.
Can we stop talking about Ed Jew's residency, and start talking about the fact he took $40,000 to help with 'permit problems?'
Alleged liar & thief, who certainly isn't getting anything done for his constituents while all of these allegations circle him.
It is possible that he is innocent. It is more likely that he is just crazy.
The Board of Supervisors always has been a circus and always will be, Jew's presence or abscence won't change that. Oh, and for the record, the governing councils of other major cities are just as wacked/wacky.
I do agree that ED Jew's problem is the $40,000 FBI sting bribe and is a VERY serious issue and a crime...
My problem with that is WHAT has the FBI done with Julie Lee lately? NADA! Kevin Shelley paid the price but she's still out of JAIL.
Why did the FBI allow the Fangs to get away with San Francisco public corruption for so long in the past after my numerous letters to them?
To me it seems that corruptive Chinese in San Francisco and America get the FREE treatment and a "Get out of JAIL card." Especially the ones connected to China.
Is that really FAIR? The rest of us get prosecuted for these things...
Let's SEE what happens with Norman Hsu, maybe ambulance chaser Bill Fazio will render to his aid and give him the same "Get out of JAIL FREE card" that these POLITICAL "whores" allot to them.
Marc Chamot
tendernob,
likety-split. loved it like a poet - from - u-know it. Mister Jew spun quite a tale...now he will face life in jail.
