Oh No Ed Jew!: Another Arrest

No, not Ed. That's been done.

Homeless SF mayoral candidate Grasshopper Kaplan was booked "on suspicion of stalking and use of a vehicle for habitation" -- is that really illegal? using your ride as your home? -- after taking a nap in his taxi while parked in the driveway of Ed Jew's 28th Avenue (non-)residence yesterday.

It seems that he did it to make a statement about homelessness, affordable housing, the moon, or whatever. Maybe he's trying to one-up Josh Wolf?

Chicken or whoever the hell is still running -- you're up. (Oh, wonderful! Here's the plan: Whichever candidate gets the most number of arrests or felony counts between now and election night should win. People always bitch that politicians should be in jail, so...voila! Plus, at least that will [finally] make for an interesting race.)

Oh where do I start with this guy?

I've been unfortunate enough to have had to take a few rides with this guy and he is an out and out clueless, professional victim.

First off, he interrupts what ever conversation you're having with your companion to tell you all about himself and his plight.

He's an incredibly unsafe driver, mainly because he isn't concentrating on the road just on whatever grievance he feels you need to know about.

His cab stinks.

He's boorish to the nth degree.

He's driving an illegal cab for chrissakes (a pint he is very happy to point out). He should be off the road, NOW.

He actually complained about the tip once (three bucks on an $8 fare, go screw yourself)

He's a hippy

He's not insured.

So even if you find yourself on a dark lonely street at four in the morning with no other means of transportation in sight DO NOT GET IN HIS CAB.

Some nutcase columnist in Canada (CANADA??) is spinning this story with a "poor, persecuted Ed Jew" angle, along with convenient omissions (neglects to mention his perjury and bribery charges) and outright fabrications (he ONLY lived in Burlingame for a few days after his wife had cancer surgery!!) Oof.

I think this reporter is Canada's Michelle Malkin. Why the f*ck does someone in Toronto care so much about SF elections, anyway? Oh well, at least she can't vote here.

More to the point, why are you reading the Canadian press, eh?

How do you spell idiot in a purple van with no taxi meter in sight?

It wasn't my fault - CNN recommends articles of "local" interest to me each morning, and that one popped up.

As for the creepy taximan, I'd say his park job in Ed Jew's driveway was his warped method of showing no one lives there. Like a stupid man's Magnum P.I.

fizzandpop, how did you come across his transportation services so many times? by chance or do you have his vip number? i always seem to get the same KOIT-loving cabbies.

You left out the part about Grasshopper leaving bannana peels on the door, and some feces in a can.

Brock: You know, drunky in the Tenderloin. I think he lurks around there a lot.

Oooh. That's his beat. Huh. Then maybe I have been in his cab but can't remember, because: blackout.

"you left out...leaving bannana [sic] peels on the door, and some feces in a can."

No, I mentioned he was homeless.

Hey, we have to give him some credit for getting our beloved, beleaguered, and bumbling Mr. Oh No! back in the headlines! I can only hope a new ode to Ed will come up at the next supes meeting!

Oh No! A Plea Bargain!!!
Check it on ACB 7.....
Get on with it Ed- just get out of here.

I read that Grasshopper was ejected by police from the last "mayoral debate" event for throwing some kind of hissy fit. If you are ejected from an event run by h brown - a man who encourages people to act out - you just ain't right.

Speaking of the mayoral debates, has anyone been to one? Do the candidates outnumber the audience? Has SFIST seen fit to cover this debatable debate series?

A cab in the Sunset? A rare sight indeed!

All of these guys give SF politics and the left a bad name. Wasn't Wolf the guy who's anarchist group destroyed the property of SF citizens? Now he's trying to run for Major as his 15 minutes of fame runs out and he is desperate for more attention. If this is the future of our young civic minded, we are all doomed.
