Indeed. I echo those sentiments. The new plastic/vinyl floors are much better than the "stain"-absorbing carpets. Do the NY Subways have carpets? No. Plastic seats are way healthier too..... Cleanliness is next to ...

I second that comment. BART give yourself the birthday gift that stops giving (i.e. mysterious stains, and bugs-ick!). Plastic seats are where it's at. C'mon, all the other big cities are doing it.

BART claims they're at least trying out a new non-carpet floor covering, which is already showing up on some cars. (Although based on the above, maybe they should try it on the LAST car first...) Go BART! It's your birthday!

Happy Birthday BART! I would like to see them put some plastic seats in the trains ... the bed bugs stories and other unmentionables that stain those seats are gross.
