No big names on the roster (though the performances were fine). The set up of the stage this year seemed odd ... maybe due to the grass needing a break from activity in the typical areas where folks sit?? Total guess. The weather just wouldn't cooperate in that part of town ... reminding me why I wouldn't ever dream of living on that side of the City. A noticeable number of folks wouldn't bother to put their brie and crackers and booze down for a couple of minutes to stand nor to take their hats off for the National Anthem - what the hell? It is one of those rare opportunities when we get to do something together as a community ... and sing those wonderful words "land of the free and the home of the brave." Before I rant about folks' desires to be anonymous and "Bowl Alone" as Robert Putnam wrote, I have to say most of the folks that attend are great fun and interesting characters in a good way.</p>
